Great cover article by Newsweek. In India, menstruation has been a taboo subject for far too long with cultural practices preventing women from entering kitchens, temples, touching plants etc. during their period.
Recently my maid refused to water my plants because it was the time of month for her - I asked her to please go ahead and water the plants despite her fears that the plants will die if she did. Obviously nothing of the sort happened and the plants continue to flourish - she has now gotten over her bias which has been handed down to her by society and will pass this on to her daughter. One small hurrah!!!
P.S. - In the article, be sure to view the video of what's inside your tampons. World over manufacturers are not mandated to disclose what is in the tampons - most women will be shocked to know what's inside their feminine hygiene products. At Purganics, we are transparent and disclose everything that is in our products - 100% certified organic cotton and plant based polymers for the waterproof back sheet.
